Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 to sanction the Freedom Fighter Family Pension under the 'Unmarried Daughter Category' in favour of the petitioner.

O R D E R
Upon the suggestion of Mr.D.Ravichander, learned Special Government Pleader for R-2 and R-3, the Secretary to Government, Government of Tamil Nadu, Public Department, Freedom Fighters Pension Section, Fort St. George, Chennai - 600 009 is impleaded as R-4 suo motu and Mr.D.Ravichander accepts notice for R-4 as well.
2. The application of the petitioner for pension as a dependent of Shri (late) Govindasamy, Freedom Fighter is available. Let this application be forwarded to R-4 by Mr.Ravichander, within a week from today. R-4 will call upon the petitioner if need be, and ensure that the same is processed and orders are passed within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of the application.
3. To be noted that the petitioner states that she falls under 'Unmarried Daughter Category' and paragraph-4 of the affidavit also refers to a detailed enquiry collected by the District Collector of Vellore District (now Ranipet District) and Thasildar, Arakkonam that evidence her claim. The claim would have to be supported by various documents such as bank pension payment order in favour of petitioner's father among others.
4. Though learned counsel for the petitioner states that the compilation in the writ affidavit is complete in regard to all documents, it would be appropriate for the petitioner to supply copies of the same to R-4 when she appears for hearing. The directions issued are summarised below for ease of reference:- (i) Mr.D.Ravichander, learned Special Government Pleader for R-2 to R-4 will forward a copy of the writ affidavit and annexures to R-4 to enable issuance of notice to the petitioner within a week from today;
(ii) The petitioner shall be called upon for enquiry and the application for Freedom fighter's pension in the 'unmarried daughter' category shall be processed within a period of four weeks from the date of hearing of the petitioner.
