ORDER
The matter is placed before this Court under the caption "for extension of time-lower Court" based on the letter dated 13.06.2025 received from the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Cuddalore District seeking extension of time for a further period of three months for the disposal of the Calendar Case in C.C.No.147 of 2020 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate No.I, Panruti.
2. Since in the said letter, the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate had stated that the order copy was received only on 09.06.2025, when the matter came up before this Court on 30.06.2025, a report was called for from the Registry.
3.As per the records maintained by the Registry, the order copy was 2/6
despatched from this Court on 05.02.2025 itself. Subsequently, a report has been received from the Judicial Magistrate-I, Panruti, through the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Cuddalore, stating that they received the order copy on 01.03.2025 itself.
4. Without even verifying, the Magistrate has stated in his letter that they received the order copy only on 09.06.2025. Due to dereliction of duty by the Judicial Officer and staffs, the case is pending and now they have sent a letter seeking extension of time.
5. Therefore, Registrar General is directed to take action against the Judicial Officer concerned and the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Cuddalore is directed to take action against the Staff concerned for misrepresentation and also take action against the staff who received the communication from this Court and not intimated the same to the Judicial Officer forthwith.
6. Further, the Judicial Magistrate No.I, Panruti, is directed to dispose of 3/6
the case within a period of three months from the date of receipt of this communication and also file a report before this Court. 04.07.2025 ksa-2 4/6
