This writ petition has been filed challenging the proceedings bearing Che.Mu.Na.Ka.460/201/Sa Uo Ti-1 dated 20.07.2015, whereby the process of recruitment for the post of 'Cooking Assistant' was undertaken by the third respondent duly fixing the roster for the respective Panchayat Unions.

This matter earlier came up for consideration before this court on 15.07.2025 and, after having perused the counter-affidavit filed by the respondents, this court directed the learned Government Advocate to obtain a status report. Accordingly, the learned Government Advocate filed a status report dated 22.07.2025, wherein it is stated that the entire recruitment process that was initiated pursuant to the impugned proceedings was subsequently cancelled through proceedings bearing Na.Ka.No.460/Sa.u.thi- 2015, dated 04.01.2017. The relevant portion from the status report reads as under:-
"4. It is submitted that as per retirement of Noon Meal Scheme Cook Assistant from 01.05.2010 to 31.03.2015, there are 228 Noon Meal Cook Assistant post are vacant, to fill the same, the 3rd respondent issued an order dated 20.07.2015, by a proceedings Se.Mu.Na.Ka.460/sa.u.Thi-1, along with annexure of district level communal roaster. In which, as per G.O.142 of 2009, as per district level roaster, Karlambakkam, Thangam Colony as Serial Number 203, as per roaster the same was classified as Most Backward Class and Denotified Community. The petitioner failed to see the annexure as per the list already 200 appointments were considered, now the second round of annexure Thangam Colony as Serial No.203."
3. It is also stated in the status report that the said vacancies were subsequently filled up by initiating fresh recruitment process and that the selected candidates were accordingly appointed on 21.03.2018.
4. In the light of the above, the relief sought in the present writ petition does not survive and the same is accordingly dismissed as infructuous. No costs. Connected miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed. 23.07.2025 skr Index : Yes / No Speaking order / Non-speaking order
