J U D G M E N T

(Judgment of the Court was delivered by D.KRISHNAKUMAR, J.) This Writ Appeal is filed seeking to set aside the order dated 12.06.2023 made in W.P.No.8553 of 2022.

2. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the appellants would submit that the writ Court has passed an order quashing the impugned orders. The first limb of the order is quashing the charge memo dated 28.03.2018. To that extent the Government Order has been passed dropping the proceedings initiated against the respondent in G.O.(D).No.136, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (E2) Department, dated 13.05.2024. The second limb of the order passed by this Court is a direction to the appellants to pass orders extending the service and monetary benefits to the respondent herein within four weeks. 2/5

3. Mr.G.Sankaran, learned Senior Counsel appearing for the respondent has produced the proceedings in G.O.(D).No.136, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (E2) Department, dated 13.05.2024. In the aforesaid order, the proceedings initiated against the respondent has been dropped and a copy of the same is placed on record. He would also make a request that a direction may be issued for consideration of his service and monetary benefits in accordance with law.

4. In view of the above, this Writ Appeal is disposed of with a direction to the appellants 1 and 2 to consider and pass orders on merits for extending the service and monetary benefits to the respondent/ writ petitioner within eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
