The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offence punishable under Sections 8(c), 20(b) (ii) (A) Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 in Crime No.61 of 2022, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The respondent police seized 1.75 kgs of ganja from one Amsaveni but the petitioner who is the husband of Amsaveni had flied from the scene of occurrence on seeing the raiding party. Now he seeks anticipatory bail before this court.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner has not committed any such offence as alleged by the prosecution and he has been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prays to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner on the ground that on the confession statement of A2 who is none other than the wife of the petitioner, implicated the petitioner in this Crime. 1/2 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

5. Considering the gravity of the offence, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner since the custodial interrogation of the petitioner is required to know the source of supply of the narcotic drugs. Hence, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
