JUDGMENT

This petition is filed under Section 11 of Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, praying to punish the respondent viz., Mr.D.Sivasubramanian, Inspector of Police attached to District Crime Branch, Perambalur for his willful disobedience of the order dated 30.03.2012 made in Crl.O.P.No.7215 of 2012.

2. It is manifested from the records that this Court by order dated 30.03.2012, had directed the Inspector of Police, District Crime Branch, Perambalur District, to register a case based on the complaint of the petitioner dated 19.11.2011, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order. The said order was not complied with by the respondent police. Therefore, the petitioner is constrained to file this petition, invoking Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, to punish the respondent for his willful disobedience.

3. When the matter came up for hearing on 27.06.2016, Mr.D.Sivasubramanian, Inspector of Police, District Crime Branch, Perambalur District was present.

4.The learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondent police, on instructions submitted that a case in Crime No.7 of 2012 under Section 420 I.P.C, was registered on 11.10.2012, based on the complaint given by the petitioner.

5.Recording the submission of the learned Government Advocate that a case in Crime No.7 of 2012 has already been registered by the respondent police, there is no need to entertain this contempt petition and therefore this petition itself is dismissed, as the direction given by
