ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for a direction to respondents 1 to 3 to nullify the entry made while registering the Settlement Deed dated 28.06.2023 as Document No.2820 of 2023.
3/6 2.The learned Senior Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submitted that the Settlement Deed itself is a fabricated document and therefore, the petitioner has approached this Court.
3.In the considered view of this Court, the registering authorities do not have the power or jurisdiction to cancel or nullify any documents. This is in view of the judgment of the Division Bench of this Court in M.Kathirvel vs. The Inspector General of Registration, Department of Registration and others reported in 2024 4 CTC 769.
4.When this Court indicated its mind, the learned Senior Counsel sought for the liberty of this Court to file a fresh writ petition by questioning the Settlement Deed directly in exercise of powers under Article 226 of the Constitution of India.
