ORDER

By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. This Writ Petition is filed for a Mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission to conduct the festival of Muthumariyamman temple, Mallamooppampatti Village to the petitioner and temple festival committee by considering his application dated 23.01.2026.

3. The case of the petitioner is that he is one of the members of Muthumariyamman Temple Festival Committee and he along with other committee members sent a representation dated 23.01.2026 to the respondents seeking permission to conduct the temple festival, but the respondents did not consider the same and hence, he has come up with the present writ petition. 4.

The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 to 5 submitted that on the basis of the representation made by the petitioner, the fourth and fifth respondents will conduct enquiry and if there is no amicable settlement arrived between the parties, the fourth respondent will grant permission to the entire village people to participate in the festival by collecting donation in the manner provided under the Act.

5. Heard both sides and perused the materials on record.

In view of the limited request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondent Nos.4 and 5 to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 23.01.2026 after providing opportunity to the petitioner and one Narasimman and Rathinam who are the parties in the suit and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
