2024-03-13Honourable Mr Justice C.V. Karthikeyan2 pages

Crl.O.P.No.4648 of 2024 Crl.O.P.No.4648 of 2024 C.V.KARTHIKEYAN,J.

The learned counsel for the petitioner instead of arguing the case, stated that he has no hope for getting bail because, according to him, charge sheet has been filed and witnesses have been examined. The contraband involved, is 8 kgs of Methamphetamine which is commercial quantity. The petitioner stood accused in R.R.No.32 of 2021, registered for the offences under Sections 8(c) r/w 22(c), 28 & 29 of NDPS Act. Subsequently, charge sheet has been filed and the same has been taken cognizance as C.C.No.83 of 2022.

2.The statement of the learned counsel for the petitioner that he has no hope of getting bail is recorded once again and it is condemnable that such a representations were made, particularly, when his client has entrusted the case to the counsel and the counsel has deserted his client before the open Court. I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 13.03.2024 ata https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
