Respondent(s) Prayer : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 5 to conduct a field inspection at Survey No.144/1 Punjai Lakkapuram ,Village, Modakkurichi Taluk, Erode District and to constitute an Expert Committee to supervise the construction of paver block, barbed wire fencing work, fixing of grills and further to ensure that the work is carried on properly in terms of compliance with the procedure contemplated under the Namakku Naame Thittam (NNT) in the manner as specifically stipulated in G.O.(Ms) No.68 Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (SGS.1) Department dated 02.05.2025 issued by the 1st respondent after considering the representation of the petitioner dated 22.11.2025 in accordance with law and on merits expeditiously within a time frame fixed by this Hon'ble Court.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) This petition has been filed praying for the following relief: "a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 5 to conduct a field inspection at Survey No.144/1 Punjai Lakkapuram ,Village, Modakkurichi Taluk, Erode District and to constitute an Expert Committee to supervise the construction of paver block, barbed wire fencing work, fixing of grills and further to ensure that the work is carried on properly in terms of compliance with the procedure contemplated under the Namakku Naame Thittam (NNT) in the manner as specifically stipulated in G.O.(Ms) No.68 Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (SGS.1) Department dated 02.05.2025 issued by the 1st respondent after considering the representation of the petitioner dated 22.11.2025 in accordance with law and on merits expeditiously within a time frame fixed by this Hon'ble Court."

2. According to learned counsel for petitioner, though the State, vide its order dated 02.05.2025, has issued guidelines for implementation of Namakku Naame Thittam in the State, the

progress of implementation is slow and therefore, appropriate directions may be issued for constitution of a Committee to supervise expeditious implementation of the Scheme.

3. Learned State counsel, upon instruction, would submit that the Scheme is in the process of implementation and as first phase, long fencing has already been done and as and when funds are released, further steps towards implementation of the Scheme would be taken expeditiously.

4. Placing on record the above statement, petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
