Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus to direct the respondents to produce the detenue petitioner's son K.Raghul, Son of Kothandan, aged about 17 years before this Court and set his liberty or produce his body. O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by C.T.SELVAM, J.) This petition has been filed to direct the respondents to produce the detenue, petitioner's son K.Raghul before this Court and set him at liberty .

2. Detenue was produced before this Court yesterday. Though the petitioner has stated that detenue was her son, detenue informs of being a transgender and having voluntarily taken up residence at Karaikudi with Sivagangai District Transgender Welfare Association.

3. We have required learned Additional Public Prosecutor to ascertain. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor informs that the society has been registered with Registrar of Societies under serial No.38 of 2017 and no concern over the safety of the detenue is involved.

4. Detenue being a major, has informed intent to maintain good relationship with the mother, petitioner, but desires to continue, for the present, to stay at Sivagangai District Transgenders Welfare Association.

4. Recording the said position, this Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed.
