The relief sought by the petitioner in this writ petition is to call for the records of the impugned auction notification dated 12.11.2019 made in Na.Ka.No.634/2017/E2 issued by the third respondent and the proceedings of the auction dated 21.11.2019 and to quash the same consequently direct the respondents to conduct the re-auction by following the mandatory procedures contemplated under the Tamil Nadu Panchayat (Procedure for conducting Public Auction for Leases and Sales in Panchayats) Rule 2001 forthwith.
2. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the auction notification was issued on 12.11.2019 and the period for auction is for only three years i.e., from 2020Page No.2 of 5
2022. Since the period has already been lapsed, nothing survives in this writ petition for further adjudication.
3. In view of the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. 14.03.2025 vm Index :
