By consent, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner's application for Gun licence was rejected by the 2nd respondent on 08.10.2014 and aggrieved by the same, he filed a statutory appeal before the 1st respondent on 19.11.2014 and it was also acknowledged on 12.12.2014 and since, the appeal has not been disposed of, the petitioner came forward to file this writ petition.

3. Heard the submissions of Mr.T.Jeevanantham, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S.Pattabiraman, learned Government Advocate, who accepts notice for the respondents.

4. This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the appeal, directs the 1st respondent to consider the appeal dated 19.11.2015, submitted by the petitioner, on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders, as expeditiously as possible and not later than eight weeks from the date of receipt of https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

a copy of this order and inform the decision taken to the petitioner.
