..Respondent(s) Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the respondent Sub Registrar to forthwith complete the registration of the Settlement Deed dated 05/02/2026, executed by petitioner in favour of Ms.Nathiya, which was presented for registration on 05/02/2026 and has been kept pending, within such time frame as may be fixed by this Court.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondent to register the settlement deed dated 05.02.2026 presented by the petitioner for registration.

2. According to the petitioner, the respondent has kept the registration of the settlement deed dated 05.02.2026 pending without assigning any reason.

3. Mr.U.Baranidharan, learned Special Government Pleader, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent, and on instructions, he submits that a person by name Mr.Mohan had submitted a protest petition with the respondent raising objections with regard to registration of the settlement deed dated 05.02.2026 presented by the petitioner for registration. He would submit that after hearing the objections of Mr.Mohan, a final decision will be taken by the respondent within a period of four weeks.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner is also agreeable for the said statement made by the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

5. In view of the above, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent to pass final orders, on merits and in accordance with law, on the petitioner's request for registration of the settlement deed dated 05.02.2026, after hearing the objections of Mr.Mohan, who has filed a protest petition with the respondent, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of online order copy. No Costs.
