PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, directing the respondents herein to produce the body of the petitioner's wife Mrs.Vasuki, aged 22 years before this Court.

O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by RAJIV SHAKDER, J) 1.The petition has been filed by one Vignesh, he seems to have married the detenue/Vasuki on 30.04.2017. The detenue / Vasuki has been produced.

2. We interviewed the detenue / Vasuki. The detenue / Vasuki says that she has not entered into a matrimonial relationship with the petitioner as alleged or at all, and that, she is, in fact, married to, one, Mr.Jagadeeswaran, S/o.Marimuthu.

2.1. The detenue/Vasuki further states that her marriage with Jagadeeswaran was solemnized on, 16.07.2017, and the same was registered, on 10.08.2017, under the Tamil Nadu Registration of Marriages Act, 2009.

The original certificate of Registration of Marriage has been shown to us. A photo copy of the original certificate of Registration of Marriage dated 10.08.2017, is placed on record, which is duly attested by detenue / Vasuki.

3. Given the aforesaid circumstance, in our view, no further orders need be passed in this petition. The detenue is not in illegal custody. Consequently, the petition is closed. The petitioner will be at liberty to take recourse to an appropriate remedy, available to him in law, in case he is still aggrieved by the factum of marriage of the detenue/Vasuki with Jagadeeswaran.
