Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue Writ of Mandamus, directing the 4th respondent herein to accord permission and also give police protection for the 'Aadalum Paadalum' function to be held on 07.05.2018 at Sri Poniyamman and Gangaiyamman Temple at Vasur Village, Wallajah Taluk, Vellore District pursuant to the representation dated 20.04.2018 given to the respondents and pass such further orders. This Petition has been filed seeking to direct the 4th respondent to accord permission and also give police protection for the 'Aadalum Paadalum' function to be held on 07.05.2018 at Sri Poniyamman and Gangaiyamman Temple at Vasur Village, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
Wallajah Taluk, Vellore District pursuant to the representation dated 20.04.2018 given to the respondents.
2. As far as 'Aadalum Paadalum' function is concerned, this Court cannot give any direction to the respondent police to permit any dances in the name of temple festival. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner wants to keep folk dance and other village arts.
3. In the opinion of this Court, it is for the respondent police to consider such requests. This Court cannot give any positive direction to the respondent police to give permission to the petitioner. However, the respondent police may pass appropriate orders on the request of the petitioner, by taking into consideration all other facts including the claim of any rival groups.
