O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed to issue Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records of the 2nd respondent ending with proceedings dated 16.02.2025 and quash the same and consequently direct the respondents to permit the petitioner and other members to take out procession on 20.02.2025 at 11.00 a.m. From Cenkundram kamarajar Statue to Cenkundram Bus Terminus and grant permission to conduct a peaceful, lawful protest near Cenkumdram Bus Terminus as sought vide representation dated 15.02.2025 by the petitioner.

2. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

3. On perusal of representation dated 15.02.2025, the petitioner is seeking permission to conduct procession on 20.02.2025 to express Our solidarity to the principles of Unity in Diversity espousing the importance of maintaining peace and social harmony and to condemn the act of certain anti-social elements who attempt to violate the provisions of Place of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991.

4. This Court is of the view that already, this Country is meant for Unity in Diversity, therefore there is no need to further express Our

solidarity and to endorse the same. That apart, this procession would lead to a law and order issue. Therefore, the request made by the petitioner was rightly rejected by the 2nd respondent. Hence, this court finds there is no infirmity or illegality in the order impugned in this writ petition. The writ petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
