This writ petition has been filed for direction to the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner dated 13.06.2011 for promotion to the post of City Engineer in Trichy Municipal Corporation on notional basis with effect from March 1999 with consequential revision scale of pay, retirement benefits including revised pension and arrears of salary with interest within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

Heard, the learned counsel appearing on either side. 3.

Considering the limited request made by the petitioner, without expressing any opinion on merits of the writ petition, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 13.06.2011 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law 2/4

within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
