ORDER
This Court, while disposing of the writ petition in W.P.No.34334 of 2016, by order dated 29.09.2016, directed the respondent to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's mercy petition dated 19.02.2014 on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks. 2.The present contempt petition has been filed by the petitioner alleging non-compliance of the order dated 29.09.2016 passed by this Court.
3.Today, when the matter is taken up for consideration, the learned Government Advocate submitted that pursuant to the order passed by this Court, the respondent has considered the mercy petition of the petitioner and passed an order on 10.01.2017 rejecting the claim of the petitioner. Today, a copy of the order passed by the respondent has also been served on the petitioner. Thus, the learned Government Advocate submitted that the order of this Court has been complied with by the respondent.
4.Since the order of this Court has been complied with, nothing survives in this contempt petition and accordingly, the same is closed. However, the petitioner is at liberty to challenge the order of the respondent in the manner known to law, if he is so desired.
