Respondents Prayer : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to publish the seniority list from among the SubInspector of Police (Women) recruited during the year 2001-2002 and who have undergone training in the year 2004 and to confer promotion strictly in accordance with such seniority list in accordance with proviso to Rule 18 and 25(a) of The Special Rules of the Tamil Nadu Police Subordinate Service Rules without reference to the passing of the examination in the first chance or second chance within a specified time limit that may be fixed by this Court.

O R D E R
The petitioners have come to this Court seeking a direction to the respondents to publish the seniority list from among the Sub-Inspector of Police (Women) recruited during the year 20012002 and who have undergone training in the year 2004 and to confer promotion strictly in accordance with such seniority list in accordance with proviso to Rule 18 and 25(a) of the Special Rules of the Tamil Nadu Police Subordinate Service Rules without reference to the passing of the examination in the first chance or second chance within a specified time limit that may be fixed by this Court.
2.Learned counsel for the petitioners, drawing the notice of this Court to an order passed in favour of the petitioners in their previous W.P. No.38727 of 2016 dated 07.11.2016 giving direction to the respondents to consider the representations dated 11.10.2016, 17.10.2016 and 18.10.2016, on merits and in accordance with law, submitted that the respondents were not even bothered to pass any order or to comply with the above said order and therefore, the petitioners are before this Court seeking the above said direction.
3.Learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondents, finding no reason whatsoever for not complying the said order passed by this Court, submitted that the direction issued by this Court in the earlier order to consider the representations made by the petitioners, will be complied with within a period of two weeks.
4.Recording the statement made by the learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondents, this Court grants two weeks time from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, for complying with the said order made in W.P. No.38727 of 2016 dated 07.11.2016. If the order is not complied with within the said period, liberty is given to the petitioners to take appropriate action against the respondents and the respondents are directed to maintain status quo till they comply with the said order.
5.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
