PRAYER: PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent police to consider the complaint of the petitioner dated 11.01.2021 and issue a non-traceable certificate in respect of the missing settlement deeds dated 12.05.1970 registered as Document No.1151 of 1970 and Document No.9430/1998 dated 30.11.1988 on the file of Sub Registrar Office, Poonamallee.

O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondent to issue a non-traceable certificate for the missing settlement deeds dated 12.05.1970 registered as Document No.1151 of 1970 and Document No.9430/1998 dated 30.11.1988 on the file of Sub Registrar Office, Poonamallee.

2.The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners had lost their original settlement deeds bearing Document Numbers (1) 1151/1970 dated 12.05.1970 and (ii) 9430/1988, dated 30.11.1988 on the file of the Sub Registrar Office, Poonamallee. Hence, he preferred a complaint on 11.01.2021 before the respondent.

3. Under such circumstances, there shall be a direction to the respondent Police to issue a non-traceable certificate to the petitioners within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, if the original documents remains untraceable.

4.This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
