Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to issue patta for the petitioner's property bearing Door No.1, Guhan Street, Puliyur Puram, Kodambakkam, Chennai-600 024, bearing T.S.No.15, in Block No.42 (formerly Paimash No.953) of extent about 5663 sq.ft. in the Registration District of Chennai Central and in the Registration Sub District of Kodambakkam.

2. Heard both sides.

The petitioner seeks for Mandamus directing the respondent to issue patta in respect of the property bearing Door No.1, Guhan Street, Puliyur Puram, Kodambakkam, Chennai-600 024, T.S.No.15, in Block No.42 (formerly Paimash No.953) an extent of about 5663 sq.ft. in the Registration District of Chennai Central and in the Registration Sub District of Kodambakkam, based on his application dated 13.11.2017.

4. The grievance of the petitioner before this Court is that the said application has not been considered by the respondent so far.

This Court, at this stage, is not expressing any view on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, as it is for the respondent to consider and decide the same on merits and in accordance with law. Thus, this writ petition is disposed of, only by directing the respondent to consider the application dated 13.11.2017 and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law, after hearing the rival claimants, if any. Such exercise shall be done by the respondent within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
