O R D E R

The prayer made in this writ petition is to issue a Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 31.08.2015 by granting relief under the SC and ST Prevention of Atrocities Act and further to grant police protection to conduct Dalit Car Festival of Mariamman Temple of Shesasamudram Village, Sankarapuram, Villupuram District and to protect the religious rights of Dalit.

2.Today, when the matter was taken up for consideration, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that since the date on which the festival was scheduled to be held was over, nothing survives for adjudication in this matter.

3.In view of the above, this writ petition stands closed, granting liberty to the petitioner to approach the police authorities, as and when required. No costs.
