Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of mandamus, directing respondents 1 to 3 to constitute a special investigation team to investigate the various irregularities and financial corruption that happened in the Annamalai University leading to the takeover of the University by the Government and proceed with criminal prosecution against all those found to have been involved in the irregularities and corruption.

ORDER
(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Counter affidavit is filed by the fourth respondent. It is stated in the counter affidavit that action has been taken to verify the genuineness of the educational qualification certificates of all the employees and whenever fake certificates are found, disciplinary proceedings would be initiated.
2. When the matter was called on 04.08.2023, the party-in-person was absent. We adjourned the matter to 12.09.2023 with an observation that if the party-in-person remains absent on the said date, the matter would be dismissed.
3. Today also the party-in-person is absent.
4. In view of the above, the writ petition stands dismissed. There will be no order as to costs. Consequently, W.M.P.Nos.12591 & 12592 of 2018 are closed.
