Respondent Prayer :- This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records pertaining to the proceedings made in Lr.No.A.E/O & M/S/KPM/File Separate/A.No.256/12, dated 16.10.2012 on the file of the respondent herein, quash the same and consequently direct the respondent to grant electricity service connection to the petitioner's house in Door No.18 (New No.49 A1), Ragavendra Street, Komarapalayam, Namakkal District forthwith.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed challenging the demand made by the respondent dated 16.10.2012 wherein the petitioner was directed to pay the arrears of the consumption charges of Rs.6,86,466/-.

The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent would submit that as against the impugned order, the petitioner has got an alternative remedy of filing appeal before the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum and Ombudsman and the petitioner without exhuasting the same, approached this Court by way of present Writ Petition. In this regard, the decision of the Hon'ble Apex Court in the case of Maharashtra State https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd., Vs. Lloyds Steel Industries Ltd in [(2007) 7 Supreme 152 (equivalent citation: (2007) 8 SCC 381] is relied upon.

3. In the light of the above, the Writ Petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to exhaust the alternative remedy. No costs.
