2.W.P.No.7063 of 2026 has been filed seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to return the original documents and to refund the fee of Rs.40,000/- by the fourth respondent College without insisting upon any discontinuation fee based on the petitioner's representation dated 03.02.2026, within a reasonable time.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners belong to financially weak background family and after completing the Higher Secondary Education, the petitioners got direct admission in B.E., (CSE) at the fourth respondent College affiliated to the second respondent University and was admitted on 25.08.2025 and the petitioners paid a sum of Rs.60,000/- and Rs.40,000/- respectively, towards prescribed tuition fee and due to their family's financial incapacity to bear the subsequent tuition fee, 3/6

the petitioners discontinued their studies on 19.09.2025. In this regard the petitioners made representation to the respondents and since there was no response, filed these writ petitions. 4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners further submitted that during the pendancy of these writ petitions, petitioners UMIS Registration was cancelled and their original documents were returned, however, the tuition fee paid by the petitioners was not returned. Hence, this Court may issue direction to the fourth respondent to refund the eligible tuition fee paid by the petitioners as per the UGC Regulations.

5.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the first respondent and the learned counsel appearing for the respondents 2 and 3. Though the name of the fourth respondent is printed in the cause list, there is no representation for the fourth respondent. 6.Considering the limited relief now sought for by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs that, if the petitioners 4/6

are entitled for refund of any amount, the fourth respondent shall refund the same, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
