ORDER

Learned counsel for the petitioner stated that the husband of the petitioner is said to have gifted 0.9 cent https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ of land situated in Survey No.43/2 of Manalampadi Village

of Gingee Taluk for the purpose of laying a public road. As no compensation was paid, the Block Development Officer, Gingee indicated that preference would be given to the petitioner's family at the time of filling up of vacancies in public post. Contrary to the undertaking given, the District Collector, Villupuram has passed an order rejecting the representation stating that there is no Government Order for giving preference to the owner who had gifted the land in appointment to Government service.

2. As the gift of 0.9 cent of land has been given by the petitioner's husband, I do not find any justification on the part of the petitioner to insist upon the respondents to give her priority while making appointments to public post.
