O R D E R

Pursuant to the order passed by this Court dated 12.05.2016 in W.P.No. 17783 of 2016. The respondent has not been complied with, within the stipulated time as directed by this Court, the present contempt petition has been filed.

2. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent would submit that he has filed an affidavit, wherein it has been held as follows:

It is respectfully submitted that representation of the petitioner along with copy of the order dated 12.05.2016 of this Hon'ble Court was recivd by the Office of the respondent herein on 18.08.2016. The Director General, Highways, Chennai has sent the proposal to the Government for implementing the order dated 12.05.2016 in the above said writ petition.

On 03.10.2016, the respondent called for additional particulars from the Director General, Highways, Chennai sent the additional particulars to the respondent. On 11.05.2017, the respondent again requested some additional particulars from the Director General, Highways, Chennai.

The Director General, Highways, Chennai sent the additional particulars from the Director General, Highways, Chennai. On 17.11.2017 remarks were called from the Divisional Engineer, Highways, Construction and Maintenance, Villupuram. On 01.02.2017, Divisional Engineer, Highways, Construction and Maintenance, Villupuram, Chennai sent the remarks to the Director General, Highways, Chennai. On 05.12.2017, the Director General, Highways, Chennai has sent the additional particulars to the respondent. I have complied with the order dated 12.05.2016 made in W.P.No.17783 of vide Government Letter No.11110/HM2/2016-10 dated 24.01.2018, after perusal of the entire records and getting remarks from the concerned departments.

6. It is respectfully submitted that the delay in complying the Hon'ble Court order is neither wilful nor wanton, but due to the administrative processes and exigencies involved in the issue on hand.

7. It is submitted that I have no intention of any nature to violate or disobey or show disrespect or neglect the order of this Hon'ble Court. The delay in complying the Hon'ble Court order dated 12.05.2016 made in W.P.No.17783 of 2016 is only due to the administrative processes.

3. Recording the submission made by the learned Government Advocate for the respondent, this contempt petition is closed.
