ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed challenging the impugned notice issued by the 2nd respondent in No.1/Ka.Na/VaPi/2012-13 (Karaikal Municipality) dated 03.06.2013, wherein the permission granted for the Shanthi Sports Club to use the Diamond Theatres Venue, Karaikal is temporarily withheld.

The impugned notice has been issued temporarily suspending the license given to the Shanthi Sports Club to use the premises of the Diamond Theatre, Karaikal on the ground that the electricity bills have not been paid for a long period, besides unnecessary posters have been pasted on the wall of the theatre. Hence the present petition is filed challenging the above impugned notice.

3. The learned counsel for the 2nd respondent would submit that since the Diamond Talkies Theatre, Karaikal was in dilapidated condition, the Lieutenant Governor, by an order dated 18.01.2016 ordered for demolishing the old Diamond Talkies building and ultimately, the building has been demolished.

4. In such view of the matter, the license originally issued has been suspended due to non payment of electricity charges and further, the very building has been demolished, nothing survives in this writ petition.

5. Hence, this Writ Petition stands dismissed as infructuous. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 14.12.2022 Index:Yes/No Web:Yes/No Speaking/Non Speaking uma 3/5
