This Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a mandamus seeking a direction against the respondents to sanction pension and retirement and all other attendant benefits to the petitioner for the services rendered between 28.06.1975 and 27.11.1990 as Assistant Professor (Tamil).
2. The petitioner had worked as Assistant Professor (Tamil) on various dates in SIVET College, Gowrivakkam, East Tambaram, Chennai, Government Arts College, Tindivanam, Government Arts College, Tiruvannamalai and Government Arts College, Chengalpattu.
3. The petitioner has then resigned his job on 07.07.1989. Now, he seeks the benefits to be paid to him in recognition of his work as Assistant Professor. In this connection, he had given a representation on 12.05.2017.
4. It is now informed by the learned Additional Government Pleader that orders have been passed upon the representation as per the interim direction given by this Court in the earlier hearing dated 20.07.2023. A copy of the order dated 21.08.2023 has been produced before this Court and also given to the learned counsel for the petitioner for the onward transmission to the petitioner.
5. In light of the above, nothing further survives in this Writ Petition, as the relief sought for in this Writ Petition seeking direction to the respondents to dispose of his representation dated 12.05.2017 stands addressed. If the
petitioner is aggrieved, he is at liberty to challenge the order dated 21.08.2023 in a manner known to law.
