ORDER

This writ petition is filed to direct the respondents 1 to 3 to instruct the respondents No.4 to 11 to collect temple tax from the petitioner's branch family members and consequently permit the petitioner to participate and worship in the temple Festival of "Sri Arulmigu Madurai Veeran Kamatchi Amman Temple", situated at Avalpoondhurai Village, Erode District based on the petitioner's representation dated 10.02.2025.

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that merely because the petitioner entered into an intercaste marriage, especially with a girl belonging to the Schedule Caste Community, the respondents No. 4 to 11 are trying to excommunicate the petitioner. Ex-communication, in this context, means that 2/5

the petitioner is not allowed to worship at Sri Arulmigu Madurai Veeran Kamatchi Amman Temple and they are also refusing to accept the petitioner's offering, which is his mandatory contribution to the temple festival.

3. From the grievance expressed by the petitioner, there are two aspects. One, the petitioner or for that matter his wife, can never be prevented from entering the temple and offering their worship. Therefore, if anyone is forcibly preventing the petitioner or his wife from entering the temple, the Inspector of Police, Modakurichi Police Station, can provide protection to the petitioner. The second grievance with reference to offering of the petitioner's share is concerned, the petitioner can also offer his share in the 'Hundiyal' or if there is an account book placed in the temple of the village, he can donate the same.

4. In view thereof, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. 26.02.2025 nsl 3/5
