Petition under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, to punish the respondent for the wilful disobedience of the order of this court dated 22.06.2017 passed in W.P.No.15739 of 2017.

ORDER

By order dated 22.06.2017, this Court disposed of the writ petition in W.P.No.15739 of 2017 directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 28.03.2017 after giving notice to all the interested parties, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of that order.

2. Since the respondent had failed to pass any

order, the petitioner has filed the Contempt Petition for disobeying the orders of this court.

3. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, Mr.G.B.Rajesh, learned Government Advocate, appearing for the respondent submitted that the respondent had complied with the orders of this court and considered the petitioner's representation dated 28.03.2017, by passing an order dated 17.01.2018 and a copy of the order was also produced by the learned Government Advocate.

4. Though the nomenclature of the order dated 17.01.2018 is different, it should be construed as an order passed by the respondent. If the petitioner is aggrieved over the order passed by the respondent, it is open to the petitioner to challenge the same, in accordance with law.

5. In these circumstances, I do not find any reason to keep the Contempt Petition pending. Accordingly, the contempt petition is closed.
