ORDER
This contempt petition has been filed seeking to punish the respondents for the wilful disobedience of the order of this Court dated 10.07.2024 made in W.P. No. 18213 of 2024.
2. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, Mr. P. Sathish, learned Additional Government Pleader, submitted that the order under contempt has been duly complied with by the Additional Chief Secretary / Commissioner of Land Reforms. He stated that proceedings bearing Na.Ka. E1/4957/2024 dated 07.07.2025 have been issued, whereby the land in question was released from the ceiling under the Tamil Nadu Urban Land (Ceiling and Regulation) Act, 1978. The petitioner's purchase was recognized under the category of an innocent purchaser. Pursuant to the said proceedings, the petitioner has also been directed to approach the concerned Tahsildar for issuance of patta.
3. On instructions from the respondents and other officials of the Revenue Department, the learned Additional Government Pleader further submitted that patta would be issued within a week from today.
4. The learned Additional Government Pleader also submitted that, in view of the compliance with the order of this Court, the personal appearance of the 1st respondent in the contempt petition - Principal Secretary to Government, may be dispensed with.
5. Considering the submissions made by the learned Additional Government Pleader that the order under contempt has been duly complied with, and taking into account the other facts and circumstances of the case, the personal appearance of the 1st respondent in the contempt petition is dispensed with. The sub-application is ordered accordingly.
6. In view of the above, the contempt petition is closed, as no further orders are necessary in this matter.
