PRAYER: Writ Petitions have been filed under Section 226 of the Constitution of India to issue an order of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the first respondent to consider and pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation dated 19.09.2016 within reasonable time.
For petitioners : Mr.V.Ravi for S.Sivakumar For respondents : Mr.T.M.Pappiah, Special.G.P COMMON ORDER Writ Petitions have been filed for issuance of Mandamus, to direct the first respondent to consider and pass appropriate orders on the petitioners' representations dated 19.09.2016. 2.The petitioners were appointed as Sub-Inspector of Police in the year 2008.
3.One Hariharaputhiran, said to be the junior of the petitioners has filed a writ petition in W.P.No.6540 of 2016 seeking promotion with retrospective effect. The said writ petition was allowed, granting the direction to promote him with retrospective effect. Resisting the claim of the said Hariharaputhiran, the petitioners have also given https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
representations on 19.09.2016 to the respondents and the same are pending. According to the petitioners, if the claim of the said Hariharaputhiran, is considered, their seniority will be affected. Therefore, the petitioners have come forwad with the present writ petitions.
4.Mr. T.M.Pappiah, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents and seeks time to consider the petitioners' representations dated 19.09.2016. 5.Considering the limited prayer sought for by the petitioners, the first respondent is hereby directed to consider the petitioners' representations dated 19.09.2016 on merit and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6.With the above direction, the writ petitions are disposed of. No costs.
