PRAYER: Contempt Petition filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, praying to punish the respondent herein for contempt of court for wilful and deliberate disobedience of the order dated 08.06.2015 passed in W.P.No.10246 of 2015.

Heard Mr.Saravana Vel, learned counsel for the petitioners, Mr.D.Raghu, learned counsel for the Transport Corporation (R1) and Mr.Sai Prasad, learned counsel for Administrator of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation Pension Fund Trust (R2).

2.The petitioner has alleged non-compliance with order of this Court dated 08.06.2015. An affidavit of compliance dated 13.10.2021 has been filed by R2 confirming the position that the orders have been complied with and Mr.Saravana Vel appearing for the petitioner would also concur on the same. 3.This contempt petition is thus closed recording this position. Incidentally, in the counter filed by R1, they would submit that tax deducted on the backwages has been deposited in PAN No.CHET12946D. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the PAN number mentioned is wrong and hence the petitioner (since deceased) has not been able to obtain the benefit of the TDS. The correct PAN number is EENPK2478R as per the details furnished by learned counsel for the petitioner.

4.This is the matter entirely outside the scope of this contempt petition, but solely to meet the ends of justice, a direction is issued to R1 to bring to the notice

of the concerned officer of the Income Tax Department to correct the PAN number of the petitioner and also rectify the error. 5.Let copies of the communications be marked to the legal heirs of the petitioner as well to enable them to pursue the same and obtain the benefit. 6.This Contempt Petition is closed.
