(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) None appears for the petitioner.
We have heard Mr.T.K.Saravanan, learned Government Advocate for respondent Nos.1 to 4 and Mr.Ravikumar, learned counsel for respondent Nos.6 and 8 to 11.
2. The learned Government Advocate submits that notice under Section 7 of the Tamil Nadu Land Encroachment Act, 1905 was issued
on 30.03.2022; thereafter, order under Section 6 of the Act was passed on 18.04.2022. The encroachers, thereafter, filed an appeal on 27.04.2022. The learned Government Advocate submits that the said appeal is pending.
3. The learned counsel for the private respondents also submits that the appeal filed by these respondents is pending.
4. The Appellate Authority before whom the appeal is pending shall decide the appeal on its own merits and in accordance with law expeditiously, preferably within four months. Depending upon the decision in the appeal, the parties may take further steps. With this observation, the writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
