O R D E R

The prayer in the present petition is to transfer the investigation in connection with Cr.No.593 of 2016 on the file of the Arcot Police Station to CBCID, or CID Vellore District.

2. The petitioner seeks for re-investigation of the proceedings in Crime No.593 of 2016 on the ground that the photographs of his son reveals certain injuries on the body and that the petitioner has CCTV footages of the toll booth to the effect that three more persons have also traveled alongwith his son in a car, which the respondent police have not enquired into.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

4. According to the learned counsel for the petitioner even the CCTV footages of hotel Marrybrown would go to show that his son was accompanied by two more persons which may throw further light on the investigation.

5. Taking into account the submissions made and in order to rule out the possibility that any other offence could have been committed, further investigation shall be conducted in Crime No.593 of 2016 by some other investigating officer other than first respondent herein. However, such investigation shall be monitored by the Superintendent of Police, Krishnagiri District based on the materials available in Crime No. 593 of 2016 as well as CCTV footages of the toll booth and Hotel Marrybrown available with the petitioner. Such investigation shall be completed within a period of 90 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, the Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
