Common Prayer: Contempt petitions filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1976, to punish the respondents herein for their willful disobedience to the order passed by this Hon'ble Court in M.P.Nos.711 to 717 of 2016 in W.P.Nos.950 to 956 of 2016 dated 11.01.2016.

: Mr.M.C.Samy COMMON ORDER The contempt petitions have been filed seeking to punish the respondents for willful disobedience of the order of this Court in M.P.Nos.711 to 717 of 2016 in W.P.Nos.950 to 956 of 2016 dated 11.01.2016.

2. Originally, the order of stay was granted on 11.01.2016 in W.P.Nos.950 to 956 of 2016 following the earlier order passed in W.P.No.20604 of 2015 dated 22.12.2015, directing the respondents to reserve one post for the petitioner therein. Subsequently, vacate stay petitions were filed by the University in W.M.P.Nos.22904 to 22910 of 2016 pursuant to which, the interim stay granted was vacated on 30.10.2018.

3. In the meanwhile, the contempt petitions have been filed by the petitioners contending that 12 posts of Assistant Professor of Tamil were filled without reserving the post for the petitioners in flagrant violation of the interim order passed by this Court on 11.01.2016.

4. As stated earlier, as the interim stay already granted was vacated, there is no contempt of the order of this Court. It is stated that the matters have to be finally heard and it is open to the petitioners to agitate their right in the main writ petitions.

5. In view of the order vacating the interim stay, the Contempt Petitions are closed. No costs.
