(Order of the Court was made by P.Velmurugan J.) This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 09.02.2026, wherein and whereby, she has sought grant of six days' emergency leave with escort, to her son, Harish @ Hariharan, S/o.Murugavel, Life Convict bearing Prisoner I.D.No.444036, presently confined in the Central Prison Cuddalore, to enable him to attend the marriage of his elder brother, Murugavel, scheduled to be held on 20.02.2026.
2. When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents-Police, on instructions submitted that the third respondent has already considered the
petitioner's representation dated 09.02.2026 and sanctioned three days of emergency leave to the convict prisoner. Hence, the relief sought for in this writ petition has become infructuous.
3. In view of the above submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Court is of the view that since the representation of the petitioner has already been considered and three days of emergency leave has been granted to the convict prisoner, nothing survives for adjudication in this writ petition.
