O R D E R

The prayer in the Writ Petition is for a Mandamus directing the respondents to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation

dated 15.10.2021 regarding granting of notional upgradation as Special Sub Inspector of Police from the date of completion of 25 years of service, within a time frame as deem fit.

2. The petitioner was placed under suspension on the ground of involvement in a criminal case and later on since he was acquitted, he was granted all the benefits as per Rule 54 of the Fundamental Rules. According to the petitioner, while fixing his seniority notionally, the petitioner has been denied upgradation as Special Sub Inspector of Police, which he is entitled to as per G.O.Ms.No.15, Home (Pol V) Department dated 07.01.2010 and in this regard, he has submitted a representation to the respondents and since no order has been passed, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the parties and perused the materials on record.

4. Considering the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioner, this Court, without expressing anything on merits, directs the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 15.10.2021 and pass

appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
