Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of Mandamus or such other Writ, Direction or Order, directing the first respondent to issue the orders for promotion from stage II to stage III career advancement to the petitioner in his application dated 11.06.2018 with reference to G.O.No.62, Higher Education Department dated 02.04.2018 and pass such further or other orders.

O R D E R

The petitioner filed this Writ Petition seeking direction to the first respondent to issue the orders for promotion from stage II to stage III career advancement to the petitioner in his application dated 11.06.2018 with reference to G.O.No.62, Higher Education Department dated 02.04.2018

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the matter relates to higher scale of pay and the petitioner is 1/3

entitled to receive the higher scale of pay as per G.O.Ms.No.62 (C2) dated 02.04.2018. The petitioner has also submitted an application dated 11.06.2018 with reference to G.O.No.62, Higher Education Department dated 02.04.2018, but till date his application is not considered by the first respondent. Hence the present Writ Petition.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that it would be suffice to issue direction to the first respondent to pass orders on the application dated 11.06.2018 submitted by the petitioner on merits and in accordance with law within a reasonable time.

4. Mr. C. Munsamy, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents conceded to the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner.

5. Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case and considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, I am inclined to issue direction to the first respondent to pass orders on the application dated 11.06.2018 submitted by the petitioner on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
