ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed for a mandamus seeking for a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioners'' representation dated 03.06.2014 requesting for payment of old age allowance to the petitioners with arrears from the year 2011 onwards based on the Social Security Scheme of the Government of Tamil Nadu under G.O.Ms.No.1080, Revenue dated 10.07.1989. Heard Mr.K.R.Krishan, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr.V.Shanmugasundar, learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the time of admission itself.

It is the case of the petitioners that right from 2011 onwards, old age allowance has not been received by them as per the approved Scheme of the Government of Tamil Nadu in G.O.Ms.No.1080, Revenue dated 10.07.1989. The petitioners are the husband and wife and they have given a representation on 03.06.2014 to the respondents seeking for old age allowance with arrears from the year 2011.

Admittedly, the said representation has not been considered till date. No prejudice will be caused to the respondents, if the petitioner's representation dated 03.06.2014 seeking for old age allowance with arrears from the year 2011 is considered on merits and in accordance with law. 5.
For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the petitioners' representation requesting the second respondent to grant old age allowance to them with arrears from the year 2011, based on G.O.Ms.No.1080, Revenue dated 10.07.1989 and pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the aforesaid direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
