Common Prayer: Writ Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the 3rd respondent to pay the compensation amount as per the award proceedings in award No.3/2002/03 in ROC No.158/99A dated 05.11.2002 and further direct the respondents to provide alternative house site and other claims to petitioner as per the rehabilitation scheme formulated by the 1st respondent dated 24.08.2002 for
the land/house site acquired for the purpose of Upper Ash Dyke area of Mettur Thermal Project, Mettur Dam, Salem District.

A notice dated 11.01.2017 was issued to the petitioners by the 3rd respondent asking them to come for enquiry. Since no further action is forthcoming thereafter in pursuant to the aforesaid notice dated 11.01.2017, the present writ petitions have been filed.
2.Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that under those circumstances, the third respondent may be directed to pass appropriate final orders.
3.Learned counsel appearing for the Electricity Board would submit that it is not known as to whether the petitioners have attended for enquiry in pursuant to the notice issued or not.
4.What the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner seeks is to direct the third respondent to pass appropriate final order. 5.In such view of the matter, without going into the merits of the case and the issues sought to be raised, the third respondent is directed to pass appropriate final orders in pursuant to the notice dated 11.01.2017 within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, if not already passed.
6.With the above direction, the writ petitions stand disposed of. No costs.
