O R D E R

The Writ Petition (Criminal) has been filed seeking a direction to the 2nd and 3rd respondents to give adequate police protection to the petitioner and her family members by disposing the written representation made by the petitioner on 02.01.2026.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the 4th respondent is the husband of the petitioner; the 4th respondent, by giving false projections, had married the petitioner, due to which there was matrimonial dispute between the parties. While so, the 4th respondent, along with his family members, have been continuously threatening the petitioner and her family members; the petitioner is pursuing her education in Ph.D., Fine Arts course attached to the Tamil Nadu Dr.J.Jayalalithaaa Music and Fine Arts University and the petitioner is going to Mahabalipuram from her residence at 2/6

T.Nagar to pursue the aforesaid course. He would submit that during such time, the 4th respondent, along with his henchmen, has been continuously threatening her and also maintaining surveillance over her house at T.Nagar. He would submit that the petitioner and her family members were under consistent threat and hence, petitioner sent a written representation dated 02.01.2026 to the 1st respondent through post and in person to the respondents two and three for police protection. He would further submit that on receipt of the representation, the respondent police have not taken any action till date and hence, the present petition has been filed.

Learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents one to three would submit that representation of the petitioner has been forwarded to the Inspector of Police/3rd respondent. He would further submit that due enquiry will be conducted based on the representation of the petitioner dated 02.01.2026, and if appropriate protection is required, it will be granted to the petitioner and the representation of the petitioner will be disposed of within two weeks after enquiry.

Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the records. 3/6

Having heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and upon perusal of the materials available on record and taking note of the submissions made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, the respondents one to three are directed to complete the enquiry and during enquiry, if it is found that the petitioner needs police protection, it shall be provided. 6.

With the above directions, this Writ Petition (Criminal) is disposed of. No costs.
