O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 herein to provide adequate police protection for the petitioner based on the representation of the petitioner dated 14.02.2024 and 20.02.2024.

2.Learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, submitted that there is a case and counter and that in both the petitions enquiry is pending in CSR.No.95 of 2024 and counter CSR.No.90 of 2024 on the file of the 2nd respondent.

3.The petitioner is directed to co-operate with the Police for enquiry and the respondent Police shall conduct the enquiry keeping in mind the judgment in Lalitha Kumari vs. Government of Uttar Pradesh reported in 2013 (6) CTC 353. On completion of the enquiry, the 2/7

respondent Police shall take a decision regarding the further course of action. This process shall be completed by the respondent Police within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 4.With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No Costs.

The matter was posted today under the caption 'for being mentioned' based on the mentioning made by the learned counsel for the petitioner to the effect that inspite of the orders passed by this Court, no Police protection is forth coming and that a Women's College is functioning under constant threat of law and order problem. 2.This Court enquired the learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondent Police. Mr.P.Raja, SSI, Karimangalam Police Station, Dharmapuri District was present at the time of hearing and on the instructions given by the said Police officer, the learned Government Advocate submitted that the complaint / representation made by the petitioner has been taken into consideration and that the 2nd respondent will provide Police protection to the College to ensure that the College is being run in a smooth manner without giving rise to any law and order problem.

3.The above submission of the learned Government Advocate is recorded.
