Prayer: Writ Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to issue fresh passport to the petitioner based on his online Passport Application vide No.25-1049964923, dated 03.04.2025 on the file of the first respondent. This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the first respondent to issue fresh passport to the petitioner based on his online Passport Application vide No.25-1049964923, dated 03.04.2025 on the file of the first respondent.

2. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner applied for issuance of passport vide Application No.25-1049964923 before the first respondent on 03.04.2025 by submitting all the requisite documents and completing the formalities as prescribed under the Passport Act, 1967, however, the said application has not been processed so far. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if the first respondent is directed to dispose of the application of the petitioner dated 03.04.2025 on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period.

4. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner. Since no adverse order is going to be passed against the respondents, notice to the respondents is dispensed with.

5. In view of the limited request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the first respondent to consider the application of the petitioner dated 03.04.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
