With the consent of both sides, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal.
2.The petitioner has come forward with the present Writ Petition seeking for issuance of certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records in respect of the proceedings in No.E1/3000/2016 https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
others-20 dated 07.04.2016 issued by the Returning Officer, 25, Mylapore Assembly Constituency and General Manager, Tamil Nadu Women's Welfare Development Corporation, the respondent herein, quash the same with a consequential direction to the respondent herein to grant permission for conducting the Chithirai Thiruvizha and Agni Vasanthorchava Vizha from 14.04.2016 to 10.05.2016 continuously for a period of 27days without interruption.
3.The learned counsel for the respondent submitted that they are prepared to give permission to conduct Chithirai Thiruvizha and Agni Vasanthorchava Vizha from 14.04.2016 to 10.05.2016, provided if the learned counsel for the petitioner undertakes that they will not indulge in political canvassing under the guise of Chithirai Thiruvizha.
4.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it is purely a religious festival and further he undertakes absolutely there will not be any kind of political canvassing.
5. The said statement of the learned counsel for the petitioner is recorded. The petitioner is at liberty to proceed with the festival as per the undertaking given before this Court. 6.The writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
