ORDER

The petitioner has filed the above writ petition to issue a writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to release the petitioner's "Taurus Lorry", bearing Registration No.TN75 J7167, seized by the Motor Vehicles Inspector on 19.03.2016.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that he is the owner of the Taurus Lorry", bearing Registration No.TN75 J7167 and on 19.03.2016, the said vehicle was seized on suspecting illegal transportation of river sand and that the petitioner has given a representation dated 04.04.2016 to the respondent for the release of the vehicle, however, the respondent has not considered the same.

3. Mr.M.S. Ramesh, learned Additional Government Pleader, appearing for the respondents, submitted that the respondent may https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

be directed to consider the petitioner's representation and pass orders in accordance with law within a period of two weeks.

4. Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side and taking into consideration the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 04.04.2016 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
