Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus to remove the entry in Patta No.1728 and the "A" Register of the property situated at S.No.125/1B, Thiruventhipuram Village, Cuddalore district, measuring to an extent of 49 ares, classifying the same as temple property. This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of mandamus directing the 5th respondent to remove the entry made in Patta No.1728 and in "A" Register pertaining to the subject property classifying the property as temple property.
2.When the writ petition came up for hearing on 26.02.2025, this Court impleaded the 6th respondent, namely The Assistant Commissioner of HR and CE Department, Cuddalore and directed the learned Special Government Pleader to take instructions.

3.When the matter was taken up for hearing today, written instructions given by the Executive Officer of the Temple was placed before this Court. On going through the same, it is seen that the subject property does not belong to the Temple.
4.In view of the above, there shall be a direction to the 5th respondent to remove the name of the Temple mentioned in the remarks column from the revenue records namely, the patta and also the "A" Register, pertaining to the subject property. This process shall be completed within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5.In the result, this Writ Petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
