This Writ Petition has been filed for direction directing the respondents 1 & 2 to include the name of the petitioner in the Provisional Selection List for the post of Grade II Police Constables/Grade II Jail Warders/Firemen.

2. Heard the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents. There is no representation on behalf of the petitioner. Therefore, this Court is inclined to pass orders on merits.

3. It is seen that the request made by the petitioner was rejected by an order dated 04.12.2012 itself on the ground that he had scored lesser mark than the cut off mark and as such, he was not selected to the post of Grade II Police Constables/Grade II Jail Warders/Firemen. Therefore, the request made by the petitioner cannot be considered. Thus, the writ petition is devoid of merits and is liable to be dismissed. 2/4

4. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
